Polunin, dubbed by British media as the ‘James Dean’ or ‘Bad Boy’ of ballet, is portrayed in the film as a romantic, tormented figure who managed to popularize the image of classical ballet thanks to his innate talent but also a powerful video directed by David LaChapelle that went viral, in which he dances on the notes of Hozier’s Take Me to Church.
