    In North Louisiana, moments of complicity and affection alternate to terrible fights between Mark and Lisa, both addicted to methamphetamine. Around their trailer, a community of veterans get into a heated argument about the social situation. At the same time, in Texas, members of a militia group get ready for an imminent new civil war.

    In a small town in Texas, a boy lives with his alcoholic mother, helping her with the house chores and at work, all the while nursing a desire to leave a world of abuse and misery behind. A work of fiction, but firmly rooted in reality, with a strong autobiographical component, it marks the beginning of a research into the stages of growing up.

During the masterclass, Minervini will expound the characteristics of his approach to film-making, based on observation and intuition and accompanied by exemplary formal ad aesthetic rigour.

When she meets Colby, a boy of the same age, she is prompted to re-think her future. With this film, Minervini gained international acclaim, honing his personal filmmaking practice.

    Texas. Ana has just found out she’s about to die. Jack has recently been released from jail, he needs money. The two decide to leave for Rocksprings, where Ana plans on meeting a healer. Harold is bound for an art exhibition in Marfa and joins them. During the journey, the mixed trio will share joys and sorrows, but will also manage to encourage each other.

  • What You Gonna Do When the World’s on Fire?

    After a series of brutal police killings of young African-Americans, a black community in Louisiana straggles for survival, while the Black Panthers organize a protest against police brutality. This film exposes discriminatory policies and endemic racism in a region still marked by visible signs of the havoc wrought by hurricane Katrina.
