VISITA OU MEMÓRIAS E CONFISSÕESPortugal 1982 68'
2015 Thursday, November 26th, Odeon, 8:30 pm - Free entrance
Directed by: Manoel de Oliveira
“A house is your roots: an intimate, personal relationship. […]”
A precious and rare film realized in the early Eighties to be seen as posthumous work. For Visita ou Memórias e confissões, Manoel de Oliveira filmed his home in Oporto, in Rua Vilarinha, that he had designed and built by modernist architect José Porto. It was his family home for forty years, since he married until he was forced to sell it. Visita is an autobiographical work revolving around private memories and confessions, including the touching re-enactment of his arrest by Salazar’s political police in 1963.
