  Up on a hill in the desert, men, women and children wander around an area dedicated to the memory of the martyrs of the war between Iran and Iraq. Among them there is also an Iranian director, atheist and living in France, who, together with a local guide, goes and meet the protectors of the Iranian Islamic Republic campaign, the Bassidji. The two opposite and coexistent souls of contemporary Iran are therefore staged in a direct and vibrating head to head stripped of reticence.

The result is the portrait of a woman who went through crucial moments of her story and suffered intense personal sorrows remaining vital, generous, active. Hers is a transparent life surrounded by thousands of eyes watching her, in an exchange of looks with no communication: on one side, the humans, inquisitors, experts and curious onlookers; on the other, an ape with an inscrutable face fixed on a world to which it doesn’t belong. The audience enjoy, the experts think about it, the guardians question themselves. Nenette sees everything in silence.

A Spanish reporter, present from the beginning of the war, documents the escalation of fatalities and destruction while following a medical relief operation, together with a Palestinian colleague.
