WALDEN

Directed by: Daniel Zimmermann (Switzerland, 2018, 106’)

STORIA DAL QUI

Regia: Eleonora Mastropietro (Italy, 2018, 74’)

Ascoli Satriano, Puglia region, Italy, a small hinterland village, now deserted. The ‘here’ where ‘there is nothing’ – as everyone keeps saying to Eleonora, who has just come back after a life spent in Milan – is opposed to the ‘there’, the ‘country of everything,’ i.e. the city where her parents moved in the sixties. She feels separated from the ‘here’ that she has never known but has always been present through family stories, references, and mementos. She has come back to give a picture to words that were not hers; they were spoken by her family and by Adele, the village girl that she met as a child on the only trip down south.

Thursday, November 8th, Spazio Alfieri, 8:00pm - With the director in-person
