WORKSHOP "THE EMPATHIC CAMERA"

Workshop held by Wojciech Staroń (director and DOP)

"I believe that every film frame should contains a bit of human emotion. I believe that screen is a place which reflects not only the actor's feelings and minds but also emotions of cameraman. The unique relationship during shooting between actor and cameraman provokes our visual style. The cameraman is the very first viewer of the film. During shooting cameraman must see more then anybody. Cameraman needs to fall in love with his actors and become one of them. What we see on the screen is his interpretation of reality and depends on his empathy." [W. Staroń]
